An Invocation to the Lineage of Yoga: As yoga practitioners we stand at the end of a long lineage of elders. We develop our own humility and ability to respect when we acknowledge the source of our practice, when we honour those that have forged the path we walk upon. Their efforts and dedication enable us to we enjoy the gifts of yoga.
This short, melodious mantra acknowledges the lineage of yoga, back to its source.
It honours Nāgarāj, an expression of Ananta, the serpent of infinity who Patañjali is an incarnation of.
Nāgarāj has 1000s of radiant, jewel studded heads which represents the many different spiritual paths. His singular tail represents the one Absolute Truth that all these paths lead toward.
One Eternal Heart: This Vedic hymn is a healing mantra, chanted to assist anyone suffering from ill health or to enhance our own health.
It draws on the elements as they exist within us and influence our health. It essentially inspires healing by connecting us to our spiritual heart.
It reminds us that infinite consciousness resides within each of us and in this way we are always connected to each other. We are one eternal heart.
Functional Knowledge to Preserve Our Sacroiliac Joints On & Off the Mat.
When we understand the brilliant biomechanics of our sacroiliac (SI) joints, we can appreciate and thereby intelligently care for them. In this workshop we go beyond the basic structure and function of our sacroiliac joints to a deeper exploration of the ligaments and muscles that provide their important passive and active stabilisation.
We examine the types of sacroiliac joint dysfunction and what compromises healthy SI joint integrity.
You will learn how to practically assess SI joint problems and differentiate them from other sources of low-back and pelvic pain.
We explore and practice important adaptations to seemingly benign yoga postures and hands on assists to protect and preserve our sacroiliac joints.
We also cover specific therapeutic exercises for SI joint pain as well as practical tips on how to avoid injury both on and off your yoga mat. A digital copy of the PowerPoint slides will be provided.

‘Good’ Posture, From the Inside Out
What is good posture? Perhaps it is not what we imagine…
Good posture is that which allows us to breath freely, where our relationship to gravity is easeful, gracious and harmonious.
Just as our breath changes with our feelings, thoughts and beliefs, so our posture adapts to reflect these. Problems arise when we become stuck in one pattern and unconsciously carry it around as our ‘signature’ posture.
This workshop aims to reveal our unconscious patterns and offers corrective and therapeutic exercises to keep us nimble and adaptive to the rainbow of changes that life presents, that we are better informed and equipped to change what we think and how we feel to heal ourselves. Thank you for your teaching, for graciously sharing your knowledge… I enjoyed the time sitting, as your student, but more than that, I found the information illuminating. Some of it validated my current thinking and experience, some challenged it, there were brilliant analogies, verbal clues and descriptions triggering visual imagery that supported my learning. Most of it was new for me and all of it potent! Feel energised as a result. I can hardly wait to have 20 days further study in Bali.
